5 Tips for Getting in Shape Quickly

Are you looking to get in shape in the least amount of time possible? Here is a collection of the five most important no nonsense muscle building and body-fat eliminating tips:

1) Cut down on body fat and bulk up at the same time.
Maybe you’ve heard of “bulking” and “cutting”? This is what bodybuilders do. They go through a season where all they do is put on as much weight as possible (including fat) and then, once they’ve reached a certain level, they start “cutting” down their body fat with a very strict diet. These are referred to as the bulking and cutting cycles. If it’s your goal to get in shape in record time, you can’t rely on such a cyclical method, though. For maximum effectiveness, you need to be building muscle mass while you’re burning body fat.

2) The Quick Path is the Painful One…
The good news is: Building muscles while burning fat at the same time is possible. The bad news? It’s very hard. In general, the only way to see quick resluts is to ramp up the intensity of your workouts. This is what gets you in shape quickly, but it’s also pretty painful…

3) Better than cardio…
Instead of doing the typical steady-state cardio, where you keep going at a fixed rate for a long period of time, do HIIT. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training and it is done by switching between higher and lower intensity in your workout. For example: Sprint for 10 seconds, then jog for 30 seconds. Keep going through several such cycles of an all-out sprint followed by a lighter jog. This technique works wonders. The downside: It’s so darn hard that it’s very difficult to stick with (see tip number 2).

4) Resistance training.
Whether you use machines, free weights or your body weight, to get in shape quickly, you have to do some kind of resistance training. Make your weight training more intense and more efficient by doing antagonistic supersets, pyramid training or some other kind of high intensity, advanced workout routine.

5) Eat food, not junk.
A big part of getting in shape quickly depends on your diet. Now, you can count calories and nutrients all day long, but if that’s not your thing, here’s the simple, no nonsense guideline: Eat only real food, mainly vegetables and fruit. Do not eat any kind of junk food, deep fried food, artificially refined and sweetened food. Eat enough, but don’t over-eat. Listen to your body, it knows how much food it needs. If you stick to those guidelines, your diet is already way better than what 99% of the population are eating, and it will show.

Not too complicated, right? If you follow the simple advice given on this page, you’ll be building muscle and losing weight very quickly. All it takes is some willpower.
